Why is Deal Hudson on McCain’s Catholic Advisory Committee?

Why is Deal Hudson, a former Fordham University professor who had to resign after an alleged sexual encounter with his then 18 year old student, serving in an official capacity on the Catholics For McCain National Steering Committee? Such a divisive and controversial figure as Deal Hudson shouldn’t be granted such an honor.

Dear Senator McCain

I respectfully ask that you remove Deal Hudson from your Catholics For McCain National Steering Committee.  I believe Mr. Hudson's questionable moral judgment, as well as his divisive and controversial nature, make him ill-equipped to represent your campaign on behalf of U.S. Catholics.
